SCCMA is a registered charity organization founded by Sara’s Family in 2004, inspired by Sara’s values and principles as written in her poem.
The organization is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with the aim of improving the lives of broken and extremely poor families living in the city. The NGO is only 15 years old, but supports 600 beneficiaries, of which 400 are children.
The Sara Center runs a nursery, a kindergarten, sewing and embroidery training center, and a cooking and catering training center. The Center has a library for the after-school kids, and a health care program for all the beneficiaries.
The Center provides all its services through the highly effective Distance Support Scheme that supports both children and their guardians.
We aim to increase the level of financial stability and emotional development of the children and their families. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to reach their full potential, but we understand this requires supporting the family as well as the child.
